Brotherhood Iftar

A community iftar held in solidarity with Palestine, bringing together around 500 people to break their fast together in Istanbul. Organized in collaboration with Bâb-ı Âlem, the gathering combined community service, shared prayers, and a collective commitment to remembering people affected by conflict.

The Gathering

TİSYA collaborated with Bâb-ı Âlem on 16 March 2026 to hold a large community iftar focused on Palestine solidarity. Around 500 people came together to break their fast and stand united in a spirit of compassion, shared responsibility, and concern for communities affected by conflict.

The Purpose

The gathering offered an opportunity to pray for the people of Palestine and reflect on the importance of peace for communities affected by war and conflict around the world. It brought people together around a shared concern and emphasized the importance of compassion, solidarity, and remembering those facing difficult circumstances.

Our Volunteers in Action

TİSYA volunteers helped with event coordination, welcoming and managing attendees, and distributing food. Their contribution supported the smooth running of the gathering and demonstrated the value of teamwork, responsibility, and community service during a large-scale event.

The Experience

Taking part in a gathering of this size gave TİSYA volunteers hands-on experience in event management and working with a partner organization. From assisting attendees to supporting food distribution, volunteers contributed to an initiative that extended beyond everyday student activities.
